Questions or problems? Email hello@yorusei.com and we'll reply within 48 hours, Monday to Friday. It's a small operation — you'll be talking to the person who builds the app.

Reading your books

Seya reads DRM-free EPUB, PDF, TXT and Markdown files that you import yourself. It does not download books from other stores, and it has no bookstore built in. Your books stay on your device.

If a book won't import or renders oddly, email us the format and what happened — that feedback is how edge cases get fixed.

Managing your subscription

Seya Plus is billed by the app store you bought it from. We can't cancel or change it for you.

PlatformHow to manage or cancel
Android Play Store app → your profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Seya
iPhone / iPad Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Seya

Cancelling stops future renewals. You keep Plus until the end of the period you already paid for, and your books and reading progress are untouched.

Refunds

If something isn't working, email us before or after requesting a refund. We'd rather fix it than have you pay for something that doesn't work.

Common problems

Playback stops when the screen locks

Check two things:

  1. In Seya, Settings → Background Playback is switched on.
  2. Your phone's battery settings for Seya are set to Unrestricted (Android) or Background App Refresh is on (iOS).

Aggressive battery savers are the most common cause of narration stopping in the background.

The neural voice isn't working

The bundled voice model needs roughly 140 MB of free space the first time it sets up. If your device is low on storage, setup can fail.

  1. Free up some space.
  2. Open Settings → Retry Supertonic.

Meanwhile the app falls back to your phone's built-in voice, so nothing is broken. If that doesn't fix it, send us your device model and how much free storage you have.

An ad won't load, or a reward wasn't granted

Rewarded ads need a network connection. If an ad fails, you are never charged a reward for an incomplete view. Try again when you're online.

Where are my books and progress stored?

On your device, in the app's private storage. They are not backed up to us or to any cloud — so keep your own copies of your book files. Removing the app removes its local data.

Privacy and advertising choices

Analytics and crash reporting are off by default and only send data if you turn them on in Settings. If you're in the EEA or UK, you can review your advertising consent choices at any time in Settings → Ad Privacy Options.

Full detail is in our Privacy Policy.
